In Minecraft, the Dark Forest is a biome in the Overworld. It has lots of dark oak trees and is easy to spot because of the large red and brown mushrooms towering through the trees. It is also the biome where you will find Woodland Mansions.

Weather

The weather in the Dark Forest biome has average precipitation.

Trees

In the Dark Forest biome, you will find lots of dark oak trees and a few birch and oak trees:

Vegetation

The vegetation found in the Dark Forest biome consists of large brown mushrooms and large red mushrooms and you will find poppies and lilacs growing along the edges of the forest:

Woodland Mansions

In the Dark Forest biome, you can find Woodland Mansions like the one below:

Inside the Woodland Mansion, you will find 3 floors filled with elaborately decorated rooms. The Woodland Mansion is protected by a new type of mob called the illager. These illagers can be found in the top floor of the mansion. There are 3 kinds of illager mobs – vindicator, evoker and vex. All of these mobs are hostile and will attack you.
